The first up-to-date trams for Lviv will be produced with a new enterprise of PJSC «Concern-Electron»

«Electrontrans» Joint Ukrainian-German venture was a
winner of the tender as to the delivery of new trams for LKP «Lvivelectrontrans».
Tender, the customer of which was the Department of
housing economy and infrastructure of Lviv urbun council, took place on the
3-th of July
2012. In tender five
enterprises: Lviv locomotive repair plant, Kyyiv electric transport plant, «LAZ» Trade and financial
company (Kyyiv), «Tatra-Yug» plant
(Odesa) and
«Electrontrance» Joint
Ukrainian-German venture, cofounder of which is «Concern-Electron» PJSC, took
part.
The competitive tendering committee made a careful study of all enterprises-contestants
propositions and among them chose the most optimal variant, offered exactly by
«Electrontrans» JV, which proposed the best price – 11 million 910 thousand grn.
and usage term of the body for a period of 18 years. As to the price proposals
of other tender cofounders, they are: Kyyiv electric transport plant – 16
million grn, Lviv locomotive repair plant - 14 million 195 thousand grn, «Tatra-Yug» plant – 12
million 750 thousand grn., «LAZ» Trade and financial company - 12 million grn.
Topicality of «Lviv tram» project is that in Ukraine there is no production of
up-to-date narrow gauge (1000 mm) tram for cities. A broad gauge for trams was
laid in the most cities of Ukraine, and only in Lviv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsya and
Yevpatoriya narrow gauge is used. By the beginning of 2012 323 tramcars were exploited on a narrow gauge (before 1990
they were 580 pcs), their middle lifetime is 35 years. Wearing of tramcars park is almost 100% (coefficient
of going out on railroad line is about 35%). For Ukraine the minimum need in
new narrow gauge trams is 150-200 pcs.
«ELECTRONTRANS» Joint Ukrainian-German venture,
founded by «Concern-Electron» Public Joint Stock Company and one of the leading
companies of Europe in manufacturing of railway and tram transmissions
«TransTec Vetschau GmbH» (Germany), specializes exactly in production of narrow gauge trams. Had
studied the experience of European producers of urban electric transport (the
enterprises of Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland and Russia),
«Electrontrans» JV worked out the project of a new up-to-date tram, capacity of
which is 217 passenger (sitting places – 57, standing rooms – 160), which meet all European
safety and comfort requirements: low level floor, wide field of view, reduced
vibration and noise level, conditioning system in compartment, places for
passengers with disabilities, modern electronic system of control and movement
supervision.
The manufacturing of new Lviv trams is on production
and technical basis and areas of Ryasne industrial complex of «Concern-Electron» PJSC, it is
provided with highly skilled engineering personnel and workers of specialized
professions.
The trams production will be carried out by machine
building corporation of «Concern-Electron» enterprises.
