Ukraine is electromobile: problems and perspectives of the national electric vehicle transport

One of the considered issues was the definition of practical
steps to obtain a synergistic effect from the joint activities of government
agencies and businesses in the organization of local production of public
electric transport in Ukraine. Ivan Kuzovkin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of "Concern-Electron” PJSC, took part in the
discussion. In particular, he spoke about the challenges of domestic electric
vehicle manufacturers in both domestic and foreign markets.
According to Ivan Kuzovkin, today in the domestic market of
Ukraine there are unequal conditions of competition with foreign producers who
have strong state support for both their own production and export of their
products to other countries. We are talking about all sorts of preferences:
from cheap loans for production to complete exemption from paying a number of
taxes. In such conditions, it is difficult and sometimes impossible for
Ukrainian producers to have a high share of financial costs and taxes in the
cost of production.
Things are not the best in foreign markets, where the
way for Ukrainian high-tech products is closed due to the application of
protectionist measures by foreign states to support their own producers, the
lack of relevant certificates uniform to European requirements and standards,
and others.
The participants of the meeting discussed the
possibilities of participation of international financial organizations in
promising projects for the production of public electric transport, legislative
initiatives of the government and parliamentarians and the development of tools
for creating a favorable environment in the markets for domestic innovative
transport.
