Practical achievements of «Electron» were presented at the Second national conference in urban mobility

On the 16 of October 2014 in «Olimpiyc`kyy» NSC the Second national conference in urban mobility, initiated and organized by GIZ German Society of international collaboration jointly with German economy Delegation in Ukraine, took place.

 

150 Ukrainian and foreign specialists in the sphere of transport, representatives of regional state administrations and towns of Ukraine, scientists, financial institutions took part in the conference.

 

In the scope of discussion there were the issues concerning innovative transport models, significance of transport planning in accordance with European standards, prospects of municipal and technical innovations. In particular, at the conference the transport models from Dresden, Ivano-Frankivsk, Donetsk and Lviv were presented.

 

A grate interest of the participants, both Ukrainian and foreign, was aroused by the report of Victor Medvedyev – a deputy of chairman of the board, about practical adoption of European safety, comfort and availability standards in up-to-date full low floor trams and trolleybuses of «Electron» trade mark, in which a lot of engineering know-how and technical innovations are used, what allows their successful operation in conditions of Ukrainian towns, infrastructure of which is now far from ideal.

 

Summing up the conference, GIZ experts appraised total investments of about 13 billions euro, needed for modernization of public transport system in Ukrainian towns. From German experts` point of view, in addition to investment for improvement of engineering infrastructure and the park of measures of transport exactly up-to-date know-how and also more wide use of environmentally safe types of transport are extremely important. At the meeting the options of foreign investments attraction were also discussed.
